New This Week At The Shop

Seasonal greetings! Plenty busy around here and there aren't too many new releases landing this late in the year, *however* the reissue gods have been very kind to us this week with lots of editions of records we haven't had in years or even decades! PANDA BEAR's era-defining solo album 'Person Pitch' gets a new lush gatefold pressing, bewitching pop minimalists TOPS reissue their stunning debut 'Tender Opposites', plus the Numero crew have graced us with fresh editions of two great albums from DUSTER, one old and one sortof new! We have CDs and cassettes of their 2019 self-titled album for the first time as well.
THE SWORD's mighty 2012 album 'Apocryphon' turns ten with a new color vinyl edition. On a cold December day right here in Madison back in 1990, the one and only SMASHING PUMPKINS stepped into Smart Studios to begin recording their debut album 'Gish', which finally sees a fresh printing after years of unavailability. We've also got a new album from psych heads DEAD MEADOW, and a brown vinyl edition of WEEN's classic live album, 'Paintin The Town Brown'.
For years, we saw no trace of new vinyl from NICK DRAKE, but we never gave up hope. Even though his section stayed empty, we never got rid of the card, and now we're happy to say it paid off, with fresh mintings of his classics 'Bryter Later' and 'Pink Moon' joining 'Five Leaves Left' in the bin. Ahh....feels good. Right there with him are two fresh LPs back in print from FRANK ZAPPA: 'Waka/Jawaka' and 'The Grand Wazoo'.
Phenom of the South African amapiano scene TENO AFRIKA returns with another scorcher called 'Where You Are'. For fans of Laurie Spiegel and Steve Reich, we've got an amazing set of late 70s polyphonic synth from composer JOHN McGUIRE called 'Pulse Music'. HUNTER S. THOMPSON's late-period spoken word album 'The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent And Depraved' is back in print, and the Sacred Bones label delivers a helpfully curated single-LP guide to the wild world of FATHER YOD and his 70s commune-rock with YAHOWA 13.
BO BURNHAM goes extra, extra personal with a super deluxe edition of 'Inside'. SAGE FRANCIS revisits his classic 'Personal Journals' for its 20th anniversary with a 2LP edition on galaxy splatter wax, and we've got a pair of long-out-of-stock faves from RAINBOW KITTEN SURPRISE.
