NEW THIS WEEK AT THE SHOP:

A proper avalanche of new releases hit the floor this week, starting with the long-awaited reissue of PJ HARVEY's 2000 album 'Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea'. Based on the number of requests we've had for this one, its your favorite PJ record, and it might just be ours too. We also have the CD and LP editions of the accompanying demo version. Somewhat of an heir to the Harvey vision is songwriter JULIEN BAKER, who's new album 'Little Oblivions' is in the house on yellow vinyl, along with a new pressing of her breakout record 'Sprained Ankle' on baby blue vinyl. Upstate New York emo-folkies PINEGROVE revisit their catalog on a new live-in-studio album called 'Amperland, NY', and we have the latest WILLIE NELSON album in the house. 'That's Life' is all Frank Sinatra covers. Is there anything this man can'tdo?

- 21 SAVAGE has already set the radiowavesaflame with a couple tracks from 'Savage Mode II', a star studded new album now in the shop on LP with amazing Cash Money style artwork
- at last, we have the latest opus from MADLIB, the vinyl beatminer who is now virtually synonymous with the sampling artform. 'Sound Ancestors' is all Beat Conductor productions, expertly sequenced by Kieran Hebden aka FOUR TET
- a new printing of one of our favorite compilations, NATIVE NORTH AMERICA VOL. 1, is back in the shop in lush 3LP and 2CD formats, collecting a PhD level overview of indigenous folk and rock from all over Alaska and Canada
- some of the earliest SKATALITES material is collected on a new Studio One comp called 'This Is Jamaican Ska'

- beloved synthpop scientists STEREOLAB have uh, quite a few great tracks to their name. So many that we now have a *fourth* volume of their ever-ongoing 'Switched On' compilations of non-album material, called 'Electrically Possessed'
- Toro Y Moi touring member BRIJEAN steps out with a lovely record of lush dance pop called 'Feelings'
- having mastered all their machines, innovative German electronic duo MOUSE ON MARS made an album using artificial intelligence called 'AAI'

- reissues galore include a few more copies of the scarce RSD drop title from THELONIOUS MONK, 'Palais des Beaux-Arts 1963', LIL KIM's explosive sophomore LP 'Notorious K.I.M.', ARETHA FRANKLIN's 'Young Gifted and Black', and SHEILA E's 'The Glamorous Life'.

- marble vinyl reissue of KILLING JOKE's masterful 1980 debut album
- a new record from CLOUD NOTHINGS, 'The Shadow I Remember', recorded with Steve Albini, and a new record from UK heavies ARCHITECTS

- the latest release on Glasgow ambient label 12th Isle comes from the Baltimore soundscaper TAROTPLANE, 'Horizontology' is a straight up gorgeous album of guitar-led chillers that sounds like it could be a lost late-70s Ash Ra Tempel record
- Montreal producer RAMZI creates amniotic house music that sounds like its made by woodland creatures on 'Cocon'
- 'Hope Is A Candle', the latest volume of unreleased 80s home recordings by Michigan's Warren Defever aka HIS NAME IS ALIVE, pure, timeless DIY ambient bliss

- a trio of crucial early FLEETWOOD MAC albums are back in print in affordable editions. 'Fleetwood Mac', 'Pious Bird of Good Omen', and 'Mr. Wonderful' date from the band's Peter Green period, when Lindsey and Stevie were still in high school working on their tans and dreaming of fame. Endless guitar rambles await!

- a trio of early records from THE NATIONAL are remastered and reissued: 'The National', 'Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers' and 'The Cherry Tree EP'
- a pair of reissues from the beloved 90s psych-poppers THE LILYS are here, showing off the band's phenomenal range. 'A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns' is fuzzy, gazey brilliance somewhere between Pavement and GBV, while 'The 3 Way' dials up the Nuggetsy psych-pop brilliance
- for its 30th anniversary, THE BLACK CROWES legendary 'Shake Your Money Maker' gets a new vinyl edition, remastered from the original tapes for the new millennium

- instrumental funk flavors here from MENAHAN STREET BAND on limited green vinyl
- the Sahel Sounds label introduces us to a new group of Senegalese cosmic beat brokers WAU WAU COLLECTIF, on a visionary new LP of percussive poetry called 'Yaral Sa Doom', which celebrates the bohemian fishing village of Toubab Dialaw
- a fresh edition of the absolutely blazing Zambian garage/psych/proto-punk classic '45,000 Volts' from the NGOZI FAMILY

- a new collab between KELLY MORAN and PRURIENT, 'Chain Reaction At Dusk'
- new record of found sound and dark ambience from BLANCK MASS, 'In Ferneau', on magenta vinyl
- a document of perhaps the first *ever* live performance done on a Moog, DOUG MCKECHNIE's 'San Francisco Moog', recorded in the late 60s on a Moog with serial number '003'.
